Hello World, and welcome to this introductory post! πŸ‘‹πŸ»

About me

Hi there, my name is Amelia Vieira Rosado, nice to e-meet you! I am a technoglot and an aspiring Software Engineer from Cuba, based in Curacao. At the time of this writing, I am in the process of finalizing my Bachelor in Information and Communication Technology and looking to transition into Data Science afterwards. When I am not programming, I like to practice archery (I'm just a newbie though), ponder about life, watch anime or documentaries and pet my dog 🐢.

Technoglot πŸ˜‰. Or in simpler terms; what you get when you combine technology with polyglot.

technology + polyglot = technoglot!

Now, let me give you some background information. I have always had an affinity for languages, world languages to be precise. At the time of this writing I am fluent in a total of four (4) languages (Curious? πŸ€” Check my LinkedIn profile out).

Speaking more than two (2) languages makes one multilingual, or a polyglot. As I pondered about this, I came to the realization that the same concept could be applied for someone who is "fluent" in several programming languages. And so, ladies and gentlemen, the word technoglot was born. Well, at least in my mind. After all, it is not as though I invented the word or anything πŸ˜„.

I could say I am a technoglot since I happen to be fluent in some Java, JavaScript, Dart and some Python (though to be really honest, there's still a ton of room for improvement πŸ˜…).

So there you have it. Technoglot's very own lil biography! 🐣

What to expect

Well, I can't promise much, but here's what you can expect in the near future:

  • Short guides on/intros to topics I'm learning about or passionate about,
  • A cheat sheet or two,
  • A series of blog posts documenting my baby steps into Data Science πŸ‘ΆπŸ»,
  • My lessons learned from my time in tech thus far (including the hiccups along the way for extra spice πŸ”₯)
  • and...anything else that comes to mind!

It's a wrap!

Oh, you are still here? πŸ‘€ Awesome! Thanks so much for reading this post. If you liked it, drop a like or share it with your friends; I'd appreciate it a ton! By the way, are YOU a Technoglot? Let me know in the comments. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

See you next time! πŸ™‡πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

P.S: I like emojis more than I should...
